The Embassy of the Republic of Burundi in Washington, D.C., would like to inform the public that starting effectively from Monday, November 16, 2020, the Embassy will resume receiving visa applications.
The processing time is 15 working days.
Also, all travelers entering or leaving Burundian territory must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test carried out before 72 hours of boarding.
The screening test ($100.00) and hotel costs are the responsibility of the traveler. For further details on visa applications, kindly check our consular section.

The consular services of the Embassy of Burundi in the United States issue the following types of visas...
A valid travel document (minimum six month of validity before the expiration date): Passport or other travel Document.
One (1) visa application forms per applicant, legibly completed and signed.
A confirmed or unconfirmed round-trip ticket or a letter from a travel agency.
Two recent colored passport-sized photos (Please staple the photos on the forms).
A copy of a yellow fever vaccine certificate.
A letter from the government/company.
An invitation letter by family members or friends.
Proof of hotel reservation(s).
A prepaid, self-addressed, stamped, express-returned envelope (such as USPS, FedEx or UPS Envelope).
* Nationals of the East African Community (EAC) and DRC are exempted from visa application, however, they need to have a valid passport issued by their respective countries (minimum six month of validity before the expiration date).
* Holders of diplomatic or official passports are exempt from visa fees (minimum six month of validity before the expiration date).
