The Embassy of the Republic of Burundi in Washington, D.C., would like to inform the public that starting effectively from Monday, November 16, 2020, the Embassy will resume receiving visa applications.
The processing time is 15 working days.
Also, all travelers entering or leaving Burundian territory must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test carried out before 72 hours of boarding.
The screening test ($100.00) and hotel costs are the responsibility of the traveler. For further details on visa applications, kindly check our consular section.

WORK EXPERIENCE
*From June 2021- : Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Burundi in the United States of America,
*January 2021: Represent Burundian through EASF as civilian expert for parliamentary and Presidential election observation mission in Republic of Uganda;
*November 2016 to November 2018: Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Burundi;
*September - October 2016: Conducting the training of senior Burundian officials in setting up a results-based system for assessing institutional and individual performance;
*June-July 2015: International consultant of the African Union in the SOPSA project to assess the quality of services (in water, education and health) to the Burundian population;
*November 2014 to November 2015: Director of Quality Assurance at the Burundi National School of Administration;
*May 2014- March 2016: Executive member representing Burundi in the East African Quality Assurance Networks in high Education (EAQAN);
*February 2015: Consultancy to the European OSCAR’s project for the development and training of ANEs in transformation leadership;
*February 2013- June 2021: Professor at the Burundi National School of Administration (NSA) (Faculty of Political Science and International Relations)
EDUCATION
*2010: bachelor in education from University of Ottawa, Canada.
*2008: PhD in Social Science/ political sociology and International Relations from Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas - Angelicum in Vatican, Italy.
