Important Announcement

The Embassy of the Republic of Burundi in Washington, D.C., would like to inform the public that starting effectively from Monday, November 16, 2020, the Embassy will resume receiving visa applications.

The processing time is 15 working days.

 

Also, all travelers entering or leaving Burundian territory must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test carried out before 72 hours of boarding.

 

The screening test ($100.00) and hotel costs are the responsibility of the traveler. For further details on visa applications, kindly check our consular section.

Communique on the suspension of visa due to Coronavirus

The Embassy of the Republic of Burundi to the United States of America would like to inform the public that due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Government of the Republic of Burundi has decided that the issuance of visas is suspended.


For visas already granted but whose beneficiaries have not yet arrived on Burundian territory, we are sorry to announce you that all visas have been cancelled until further notice.
